What can my semester ticket do?

Where does my semester ticket go? How can I use it to explore the region? What do I have to pay attention to? We will explain all this and more in this event. This is primarily aimed at first-year students, but is of course open to all students.

What is the semester ticket? What does it look like?

The semester ticket is essentially a ticket for local public transport. You can see the validity area below. The ticket is valid in the respective semester ticket the entire time, so 24/7, so you can be on the move at any time in public transport.

In most cases, you will receive a paper student ID card. In combination with an ID card or a foreign passport, this will serve as your ticket. If you are part of the Digital Semester Ticket pilot project, you can find your semester ticket in the JGU app. (Here you can find more information about the pilot project Digital Semester Ticket.)

  • How does the ticket control work if I do not have data reception at the moment?
